The Kscien Spotlight Series successfully hosted a high-impact session on “Effective Research Skills”, featuring Prof. Dr. Zeliha Selamoglu, a distinguished researcher and academic. Prof. Selamoglu emphasized the crucial role of abstracts and conclusions in academic writing, describing the abstract as the first handshake of a research paper and the conclusion as its final takeaway. She explained that a well-crafted abstract should be concise, clear, and engaging, effectively summarizing the study’s objectives, methods, key findings, and implications. Similarly, a strong conclusion should reinforce the study’s significance, provide closure, and suggest future research directions.
Beyond these key sections, the session covered essential research skills, including literature review strategies, research methodology selection, ethical publishing practices, and effective communication in scientific writing. Attendees participated in interactive discussions and real-time exercises, enhancing their ability to structure research papers for clarity, coherence, and maximum impact.
